Royal Coup Solo is a tactical, fast-paced card game where you attempt to overthrow 12 corrupt monarchs. Manage your hand, coordinate strategic card combos, trigger powerful suit abilities, and survive the bosses' devastating counter-attacks to free the kingdom.

Royal Coup Rules (Solo Mode)

Objective

Defeat all 12 corrupt monarchs in the Castle deck (Jacks, then Queens, then Kings) to win. You lose if you cannot play a card, yield, or satisfy damage dealt by an enemy.

Each Turn

  1. Play a card (or a combo/pairing) or yield.
  2. Apply card suit powers (if the enemy is not immune).
  3. Deal damage equal to total card value (doubled if Clubs power active).
  4. If the enemy survives, suffer damage by discarding cards equal to the enemy's attack.

Card Combinations

  • Single Card: Play any card.
  • Animal Companions (Aces): Can be paired with any card (except Jester) or another Ace. Add +1 to value, apply both suit powers.
  • Combos: Play sets of 2, 3, or 4 identical value cards (2s through 5s) summing to 10 or less (e.g. 5+5, 3+3+3, 2+2+2+2).

Suit Powers

  • ❤️ Hearts: Heal from discard. Shuffle discard pile, put cards equal to attack value on the bottom of the Tavern deck.
  • ♦️ Diamonds: Draw cards equal to attack value (up to hand size 8).
  • ♣️ Clubs: Double damage dealt this turn.
  • ♠️ Spades: Shield. Reduce the enemy's attack value by the card's value. Shield is cumulative and stays until the enemy is defeated.

Enemy Immunity & Bosses

Enemies are immune to suit powers of their own suit (e.g., a Diamond enemy cancels Diamond draws). Attack values and HP:
• Jack: 10 ATK / 20 HP
• Queen: 15 ATK / 30 HP
• King: 20 ATK / 40 HP

Defeating Enemies

If you deal damage equal to or greater than the enemy's HP, they are defeated.
🎯 Defeat exact match: If damage is EXACTLY equal to the remaining HP, the boss is placed facedown on top of the Tavern deck! (Jacks count as 10, Queens 15, Kings 20 in your hand).
Otherwise, they are placed in the discard pile.

Jester Power (Solo)

Flipping a Jester on the sidebar discards your hand and refills it to 8 cards. You have 2 Jesters per game. You can flip a Jester at the start of your turn or before taking damage.
